Anferra Featured on IVA’s 100 List
Anferra is honored to be included in the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ (IVA) prestigious 100 List for 2024. This recognition highlights Anferra’s work in transforming hazardous steel grinding sludge into valuable resources, contributing to environmental sustainability and industrial efficiency.
Pioneering Sustainable Solutions in Steel Waste Management
In Sweden, thousands of tonnes of grinding sludge from the steel and manufacturing industries are incinerated or landfilled annually, leading to significant energy and material losses, as well as increasing waste management costs. Anferra’s unique hydrometallurgical recycling method addresses this challenge by recovering 80% of grinding sludge from steel processing. The process produces iron chloride for water treatment and hydrogen gas, contributing to green energy initiatives.
